Born and bred in the North East, Carole graduated from Leicester University with a first class law degree before moving on to Chester Law College to sit her Law Society Finals, then joining Freeman Johnson in 1992 as a trainee solicitor. Carole has remained with Freeman Johnson throughout her career, qualifying in 1994 and becoming a Partner in 1997.
An accredited specialist in family law, Carole has considerable experience in all aspects of family law including divorce, financial settlements both in divorce cases and following cohabitation, children issues including residence and contact and domestic violence remedies. Carole also advises upon pre-marital and cohabitation contracts.
Carole is a regular and respected advocate in the North East courts.
Recognising that a court resolution to problems is not always the best process for families, Carole is also a trained Collaborative Lawyer, helping couples work together constructively to resolve issues with the emphasis being upon keeping matters out of court and finding solutions together on an amicable basis.
Carole has a sensitive but pragmatic approach and will advise about the different processes available and discuss which process may be most appropriate.
Carole is one of our family solicitors in Darlington, but has represented clients from around the world. She can offer collaborative services from any of our other offices.
Married with one daughter, three grown up step children and a cat, Carole loves to spend time with her family. In her spare time she likes to travel both abroad and also in the UK, particularly in the beautiful Northumbrian coast.
